A closer look at your eyes, any time you like.
OcuScreen is a simple, private way to check in on your eyes, right on your iPhone — eleven short checks, a few minutes each.
Your first checks are free to try. Requires iPhone with iOS 17 or later.
Do one, do a few, or work through them all.
Each check takes just a few minutes. Pick whatever you're curious about today.
How clearly you seeFour checks
- Sight clarity
- How clearly you can make out things across the room.
- Near vision
- How clearly you can make out things up close, like a menu or a text message.
- Contrast sensitivity
- How well you can pick out shapes when they blend into the background, like fog or dim light.
- Colour vision
- How well you can tell colours apart.
How your eyes look and feelThree checks
- Dry-eye signs
- Signs that your eyes might be dry or tired, like how often and how fully you blink.
- Pupil size and symmetry
- Whether your pupils are an even size and respond evenly.
- Eyelid symmetry
- Whether your eyelids sit and open evenly on both sides.
How your eyes work togetherFour checks
- Astigmatism signs
- Whether lines in different directions look equally sharp, or blur more in one direction.
- Eye alignment
- Whether your two eyes point in exactly the same direction together.
- Central vision
- Whether straight lines still look straight at the center of your view.
- Visual field
- How much you can see off to the sides without moving your eyes.
Send your results to any eye specialist you choose.
Any purchase in the app — a credit pack or the lifetime unlock — also opens the doctor summary in Reports: every result you have, written out in plain language.
OcuScreen never sends it anywhere itself. The summary is yours: you address it and send it, to whichever eye-care professional you want.
Four steps, at your own pace.
-
Step 01
Pick a check
Choose from eleven short checks — how clearly you see, how your eyes look and feel, how well they work together, and more.
-
Step 02
Follow along on your screen
Each check walks you through exactly what to do, at your own pace.

Step 03
Get a clear result
Each check gives you a simple result, plus a plain next step. Never a diagnosis — just a clear read on where things stand today.
- Clear (green)
- Recheck (orange)
- Attention (red)
-
Step 04
Keep an eye on things over time
Your results are saved right on your phone, so you can look back whenever you like. Need to see a professional? Use the built-in map to find eye care nearby — that's always free too.

Answering out loud
Three of the checks — Sight clarity, Near vision and Colour vision — let you say your answer instead of tapping it. That spoken-answer feature understands English only for now, whatever language the rest of the app is in: if you're reading OcuScreen in another language, the check says so before it starts and asks for that one spoken answer in English. Tapping always works, in every language.
Stays on your iPhone
Speech is recognized entirely on your iPhone — nothing you say is ever recorded or sent anywhere.
What happens on your phone, stays on your phone.
Everything OcuScreen sees stays on your iPhone. Your photos and results are never uploaded anywhere, and OcuScreen carries no advertising, no tracking, and no analytics of any kind — we simply don't collect that kind of information.
Read the full Privacy Policy for every detail.
- Photos and results are stored only on your iPhone, behind the system's own file encryption.
- No advertising, no tracking, no usage statistics, and nothing read from Apple Health.
- Camera, microphone and location are each optional, and the app keeps working without them.
- Delete the app and everything it stored on that device goes with it.
Questions we hear a lot.
The answers below cover almost everything people ask before they download.
Is OcuScreen a medical device?
No. OcuScreen is a wellness and screening tool, not a medical device. It hasn't been reviewed or cleared by the FDA, the EU MDR system, or any other medical regulator, and it doesn't replace an eye doctor. If you're concerned about your eyes or your vision, please see one.
Do credits expire?
No. Once you've bought credits, they're yours — there's no expiry date and no countdown.
Can I get a refund?
All purchases go through Apple, so Apple handles refunds too. You can request one through Apple's standard refund process for App Store purchases.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your photos and results stay on your iPhone and are never uploaded anywhere. OcuScreen has no ads, no tracking, and no analytics. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
What do I need to run it?
An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Four checks are free to try on a new install, so you can see how it feels before buying anything.
Can I answer out loud instead of tapping?
In three of the checks, yes — Sight clarity, Near vision and Colour vision. Spoken answers are understood in English only for now; tapping works in every language the app is translated into.
OcuScreen is a wellness and screening tool. It is not a medical device. It has not been reviewed or cleared by the FDA, the EU MDR system, or any other medical regulator. It does not replace an eye doctor.
We'd rather be upfront about that than have you wonder. Think of OcuScreen as a way to notice changes and stay a little more familiar with your own eyes, between the visits that really count. If anything about your eyes or your vision concerns you, please see a doctor.
